Responsive E-commerce Web Design
Hedonist Artisan Chocolates E-commerce website for a growing gourmet chocolate business

  • Defined the requirements for the project
  • Identified Magento as the best E-commerce platform for the company’s needs
  • Requested quotes from three different web site development companies
  • Designed the website using a mobile-first approach
  • Communicated the design to the developer with detailed wireframes
  • Worked closely with the developer throughout the project
  • Selected the best of three photographers to shoot new product images
  • Tested the website extensively before launch

User Experience Design and Usability
Trailmeme – a web application that helps users tell stories with web content

  • Led the design of new features
  • Created wireframes and behavior specifications for development and user interface design resources in India
  • Managed the project’s user interface designer
  • Continually evaluated and recommended usability improvements with heuristic evaluations and user testing
  • Represented the project at external events such as WordCamp and DEMO

Responsive WordPress Web Design

  • Interviewed clients to define requirements
  • Produced initial sketches and then more detailed wireframes
  • Implemented design using the WordPress Thesis framework
  • Modified basic Thesis templates to produce custom design
  • Integrated e-commerce and email list sign up forms
  • Created graphics for use in the design
  • Tested websites on multiple mobile and desktop platforms
  • Trained owners to maintain the sites and add new content
  • Applications: WordPress and Photoshop

 
Communication Engineering / Forms Design
Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, Explanation of Benefits – a customer-facing medical document

  • Led the re-design of Regence’s Explanation of Benefits document using Xerox’s Communication Engineering methodology
  • Led focus groups of Regence customers to identify their problems with the current document and to get feedback on the new one
  • Created two sets of prototypes for presentation to Regence stakeholders, delivered final prototypes and full technical specifications for production
  • Video about the Regence EOB (Note: This video was made after I left the group so my role is played by another designer. I created all the sketches and designs featured in the video.)

User Experience Design
Xerox FreeFlow Print Server, version 6 – workflow and color management application for Xerox production printers

  • Led design of an Advanced Preview feature, see Product Demo (select Product Demos in the upper right corner, then Preview Capabilities in the third column)
  • Contributed to a major update of the application’s overall look/feel and functionality in Version 6
  • Worked on an Agile team in sprints with daily scrum meetings
  • Planned and participated in focus groups and usability tests
  • Performed competitive and heuristic evaluations
  • Created prototypes, behavior specifications and icons
  • Applications: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, Visio
